Andes Peaks is one of four brands marketed by Viñedos Emiliana S.A., a Company set up in 1986 with a drive to purchase their own vineyards thus enabling them to produce consistent, high quality wines. Their holdings, in the best valleys in Chile (Casablanca, Maipo and Rapel), now extend to around 1,550 hectares. Andes Peaks Merlot is made from grapes sourced from four different estates, Chimbarongo, Las Palmeras, Lihueimo and Totihue each of them being owned by Viñedos Emiliana, in the Rapel Valley, part of the vast Central Valley region.
The Rapel valley is to be found, south of the Maipo Valley, and centred around the towns of Rancagua and San Fernando and is, itself, split into two smaller zones one in the Cachapoal Valley and the other in the Colchagua Valley.
