It is difficult to believe that it was not until 1973 that the first commercial vineyards were established in Marlborough and that the notoriously difficult Pinot Noir plantings came after those of the Sauvignon.

Tindall Vineyard is a 22 hectare single estate in the Blenheim area, at the northern tip of the Marlborough region, on the north eastern edge of New Zealand’s South Island. Owned by Terry and Lynley Sowman and run by their two sons, Clyde and Nigel, the vineyard was named to honour Henry Tindall, grandfather of the brothers Sowman. Tindall Vineyard is renowned for its premium Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir grapes, and produces a selection of classical wines utilising the talents of the acclaimed winemaker, Dr. John Forrest.

This wine is full of big, fruit flavours, with fresh clean red berry fruit aromas which carry through to the palate but without any overpowering tannins.
